Yonas Tadesse is a self-taught fine art artist, photographer, and director born and raised in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. His passion originates from the unique narratives of the individuals in his photographs, allowing him to convey stories through his work.
Yonas draws inspiration from various artistic realms like painting, cinema, fashion and music and with his experience in photojournalism and documentary work, he brings a unique perspective to fine art work.
In 2014, Yonas showcased his work at Addis Foto Fest. His photographs have been featured in renowned publications such as the New York Times, Time Magazine, the Washington Post, CNN, Al Jazeera, the Guardian, Bloomberg, BBC, Vogue Italia, and Vogue Germany. Yonas has collaborated with entities like the United Nations, AFP/Getty Images, and international organizations such as WaterAid and GIZ. He also enjoys working with his community by hosting workshops and mentoring aspiring photographers through Addis Foto Fest.
